I have said it before, I will say it again, resolutions don’t work. Thanksgiving is almost here and that means the new year will be here before we know it. Many people spend part of this time thinking about the year and what they would like to change. Honestly, 2016 seems to have been a rough year for many people, so starting 2017 off right is a top priority for many. As you start to decide on your goals, stop and think about this- this is not resolution time, it’s plan time.
For starters, I do not think January 1 is the time to start losing weight. Have financial plans? January is also a hard time to get finances on track when holiday bills come in. Starting a new goal plan in the beginning of the year is a great idea as it offers a clean slate, but be realistic. Maybe you need to wait until January 15 when all the holiday goodies are out of the house. Maybe February 1 when your holiday bills are in. Or maybe you might even want to make spring your “start” date. Pick a date that works for you.
Second, just because you aren’t starting until a few weeks into the new year, doesn’t mean you can’t start working on your plan. Start educating yourself. Want to lose weight? Research how to do it, visit your doctor and a nutritionist. Get informed. Looking to switch jobs? Start understanding what is out there. Start updating your resume.
Third, come see me! As a HypnoCoach, I have tools to help you plan. I can help you understand what your goals really are, so they are easier to reach. Often times we fail because we are following the wrong dreams. Let me help you get on the right path!
And finally, the hypnosis part comes in. Once you plan and start, change and lack of motivation can really bring you down. Hypnosis helps you create real change! With hypnosis, I can help you break your old habits and form the new, healthier ones that you desire.
Here’s to the best year ever!
