Today is the last day of 2015. Tomorrow starts a brand new year full of all sorts of possibilities! In reality, it’s just another new day, right? Why do use the new year as a chance to start over? For one, we have survived all four seasons and every holiday again. There were a lot of memories made, a lot of interaction had and hopefully, a lot of learning and thinking.
Hopefully the past few weeks have left you in a state of reflection. What was good about this year? What was bad? What did you plan on doing that you never got around to? Now think about yourself, what do you like about yourself? What do you want to change?
I don’t recommend making new year’s resolutions. Resolutions are too easy to break and not stick with. Instead, think about what you really want to change and make a goal. If you can, make a plan for your goal. A certified HypnoCoach™ can help you make your plan and reach your goals.
For starters, just because the new year starts tomorrow, doesn’t mean you have to. There is a saying “There’s not time like the present”. That isn’t always true. You have to be READY. Let’s say your goal is to lose weight but your house is full of leftover holiday junk. You probably won’t be ready to work on weight loss. You could throw out the junk but if you feel guilty about wasting, you won’t feel good about that decision. So, pick a date that works for you. Maybe January 10? By then you will have the junk gone and will feel okay throwing out anything that’s left. Use the date that works for you!
Use the time to prepare. Maybe you need to research a gym, visit a hypnotherapist or get a physical before you start. Also, remember that change can be really scary if it looks too big. Start small. If your goal is to run a 5k, you aren’t going to go run it on the first day, right? Same with everything. Make small changes that will lead to big results.
Good luck and happy new year! As always, if you are interested in learning more, feel free to contact me for a free consultation!
